/So many fun things happen during wedding receptions: speeches, toasts, cake cutting (and eating of course), dances and all kinds of exits.
Here are a few favorite reception photos from 2022.

Yesterday Anne invited me to visit her parents’ backyard where her wedding will take place in June. While there I suggested we do a short engagement shoot.
Here are a few favorites from the session.
Can’t wait to photographer your wedding, Anne and Trevor.
There was nothing ordinary about Helene and Matthew’s wedding, from her proposal to Matthew, to the “Eat The Patriarchy” t-shirts she gave her bridesmaids, to the dinosaur theme, to the amazing cookie table Matthew’s Mom created for their reception.
Which was as it should be, because Helene and Matthew are an extraordinary couple.
Here are few fun photos from their exceptional wedding, which took place at the Press Street Station in New Orleans.

Having a wedding anywhere in the US? I’d love to be there with my camera.
I love to travel.
The best laid wedding plans of many a couple, including Brittany and Josh, were dashed by the global spread of the coronavirus.
Once they realized the significance and potential length of the pandemic, Brittany and Josh decided to go ahead and get married and delay their wedding ceremony. I don’t think either one realized just how long that delay would last.
This past weekend, exactly three years after COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic, the two celebrated with friends and family at the Wahoo Grill in Decatur, Georgia.
Here are a few favorite photos from their celebration/ reception.
Kelly and Frank tied the knot in a micro wedding in August of 2022. And, they’ve planned a larger wedding to take place at the Dekalb History Center for November of 2023.
In the meantime, they decided they’d like to take “engagement photos,” really married couple’s photos, partly so they’ll have photos for their save-the-dates.
They chose the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for obvious reasons … it’s just so gorgeous.
Here are a couple of sneak peek photos.
When a dancing theater creator and performer falls in love with a comedic, dungeon master and law clerk, you can expect a delightful wedding filled with theatrics, laughter, lip synching, twirling and lifts.

Pretty much everybody in Georgia and a great many folks around the world know all about Stone Mountain, the largest piece of exposed granite in the world.
Not nearly as many know the granite mountain has two sisters, Arabia and Panola Mountains. They aren’t as large, but they are impressive, nonetheless.
So needless to say, I was excited when Susana and Durreyl chose Arabia Mountain as the location for their engagement session. The granite monadnock, one of three sisters on the east side of Atlanta, is one of my favorite places to hike.
What a great location for a couples portrait session. Here are few favorites from that afternoon.
