Surprise WPJA Award Winners
I have a complicated relationship to photography contests. On the one hand, it’s nice to win an award or two here or there. On the other, it’s a very bad idea to let you ego get caught up in what other photographers (they’re always the judges) think of your work.
Wheelchair Basketball State Championships
Thanks to fellow Pine Laker Tommie Storms, I was hired to photograph the Georgia Wheelchair Basketball State Championship that took place in Macon earlier this year.
Here are few favorite photographs from that game.
2019 Georgia AAAA Boys Basketball Championship
When I was a student at the Art Institute of Atlanta a few years back, I called Manny Rubio, an amazing photographer to interview him about working for Sports Illustrated. (Don’t ask me how I found his number in pre-internet days, because I have no recollection.)
He graciously took my call and answered my questions … a lot of them.
NAPDS Conference: Speakers and Listeners
National Association of Professional Development Schools Conference took place at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Atlanta in February of this year.
The schedule included roundtable discussions, research presentations, committee meetings, symposiums and awards ceremonies. Needless to say, there were a lot photo opportunities.
What I've learned from my award-winning engagement photos
The wedding photojournalist association has added engagement photography to their contest competitions. And I’ve taken the opportunity to enter a few of my favorite engagement images.
I’m happy to report that I took home three awards in 2018. Here are the winners. Thanks to the couples who were so fun and funny, and warm and loving.
Website branding photos for Ipsum Diagnostics
Every now and then we branch out from wedding photography to create images for brands looking to show off their their work in magazine-quality photographs.
Recently we headed up to Ipsum Diagnostics to show off the lab work they do. Here are a few of our favorites from the day.
Georgia Center for Non Profits at Trees Atlanta
Last week, members of the Home Depot Foundation's Building Community Network gathered for a panel discussion titled, "Learning from Change Leaders."
Do Something Nice. It Feels Good.
I’m always looking for photos to share on my blog. These were taken a couple of months ago of a pup by the name of Roxy. She was looking for a good home and a friend from Pine Lake asked me to take photos she could use to find Roxy a forever family.
