Elsie and Taylor’s Wedding at the Frazier Center

Ceremony at Cator Woolford Gardens

A Day Full of Love, Music, and Good Vibes

Some weddings are pretty. Some are deeply personal. Elsie and Taylor’s wedding? It was both. From the garden ceremony to the dance-filled reception, the entire day was packed with meaningful moments, beautiful touches, and just the right amount of chaos (the good kind).

The Ceremony: Garden Views and Bagpipes

Set under the trees at Cator Woolford Gardens in Atlanta, the ceremony was gorgeous, sure—but the real beauty was in the purpose. Hosting the wedding there helped support the Frazer Center, a nonprofit on the same grounds that fosters inclusion for people of all abilities. A beautiful backdrop and a good cause? Win-win.

Guests arrived to the sound of live piano played by Uncle Bob (Elsie’s uncle), adding a cozy touch to the setting. And then came the bagpipes: Elsie’s cousin Sam played “Highland Cathedral” on the pipes as she walked down the aisle with her father. The song was the one wedding detail Elsie had imagined since she was 14, and it hit all the right emotional notes.

The ceremony itself was led by close friend Christopher Adams, who nailed the perfect mix of heartfelt fun.

The Reception: Dancing, Dessert, and a Special Guest

After the ceremony, everyone headed inside to The Frazer Center for the reception. With help from planner Ashley Hess, the space was transformed into a warm, welcoming, and stylish party spot. Florals by Caitlin Currier and a soft sage and cream color palette brought the outdoors in without overdoing it.

Elsie’s dad gave a toast and surprised the couple with two paintings, which made everyone. smile. Later in the night, both moms were spotted dancing with a guest who looked suspiciously like Jesus.

Amp’d Entertainment kept the music going and the energy high, while Southern Sweets Bakery served up desserts that were as tasty as they were pretty. People laughed, cried, danced hard, and ate well—the perfect combination for a memorable night.

I'm also an adventurous traveler and all-round nerd. I love to hike with my beagle/cattle dog Roux and best friend/spouse.

I was born in Atlanta, moved around a lot--30 cities and 5 states--and then came back.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Atlanta, I took a job at asmall newspaper in south Georgia, where I photographedhospital teas, pecan farmers, and beauty queens.

I photographed a biker funeral, death penalty protests andTed Bundy while interning with the Associated Press.

While a photographer for two dailies in Florida, I photographed Ronald Reagan, a train derailment and the dedication of a screened-in porch.

An unexpected life turn took me to Vermont where I fell in love with Bernie Sanders and on to Indiana, where I edited photos for a major daily, and nerded out getting a master’s and PhD.

After teaching photojournalism at colleges and universities in Florida, Indiana and Mississippi, I returned to Atlanta to earn myfifth degree--a Master's of Divinity.

My passion for storytelling with my camera and my interest in religious diversity led my to the field of wedding photojournalism.

I have documented weddings large and small, Unitarian and Pagan, indoors and out, Christian and Muslim, in backyards and in churches. The most exotic wedding I have photographed took place in Mexico and was officiated by aMayan shaman.

When I'm not photographing weddings, portraits or corporate events, I work on personal photo projects, visit friends in amemory-care home, and volunteer at a recovery center.
