After a trip to Alexander’s department store, near Blairsville, on Black Friday, where the check-out lines were longer than I had ever seen (no I did not buy); three days of never-ending emails pitching Cyber Monday sales for Photoshop presets and online courses to make me a better photographer/business person (no I did not buy); and a continuing pop-up ad from B&H about an Apple laptop that I really did need (yes, I succumbed): I am happy to be moving on to Giving Tuesday.
Giving Tuesday … the day non-profits have finally figured out should belong to them.
Tomorrow, Giving Tuesday, I will spend the day deciding just which non-profits I most wish to support with my time and money. Ones that I support now, like The Alzheimer’s Association, Breatkthru House and Just Bakery. Or these and more?
I hope you’ll spend the day … or at least part of it considering what you can give to help make the world a better place, as well.
Members of the Georgia Center for Non-Profits gathered to promote Giving Tuesday, and I was glad to be there to document the occasion.
