A few years ago, I found out about C4 Atlanta, a non-profit arts service organization that offers business classes to artists entrepreneurs. My friend Manuel and I signed up for the Ignite class, which was informative and lots of fun. Plus we met a lot of great artists.

I stayed in touch with Jessyca Holland, the director, and for the last two years she’s called on me to photograph C4’s Spark Awards banquet. The Spark Awards celebrate Atlanta’s creative entrepreneurs.

The artist entrepreneur of the year for 2019 is Dan Flores of Art is King. And the Artist Champion is MARTA Artbound, led by Katherine Dirga, the Arts Administrator. Both were at the banquet to receive their awards, colorful blown- glass pieces in the shape of a flame.
